How does blue light affects my health?
Due to the short high-energy wavelength, the rays of blue light flicker differently than the rays of long wavelengths. This flicker reduces visual contrast and reduces visual acuity. The screens of digital devices flicker, causing our eyes to strain. Prolonged work behind the devices tires our eyes, resulting in headaches and mental and physical fatigue. Blue light also affects the sleep cycle and has been shown to cause insomnia. Prolonged exposure to blue light can cause damage to the retina of the eye, which can, in extreme cases, also lead to vision loss.
